The kitchen sink. A place in the home central to everyday life, but often overlooked.
Whether ditching dishes after a meal, filling a vase, or rehydrating with a glass of good old fashioned tap water, the kitchen sink is another hub where life happens.
Kitchen sinks usually have the best views, and I enjoy contemplative time watching the activity from my window when washing up, or chopping vegetables or arranging flowers (I use this term loosely; I’m pretty unstructured, and let the blooms fall where they want to) at my Belfast sink.
Sometimes I might not see anything at all, lost in daydreams, immersed up to my elbows in hot soapy water. Other times, I watch the world go by.
It can be hard to find the time to dream in this fast-paced world of ours, so next time you find yourself at your kitchen sink, linger for a moment longer, and let your thoughts fly.
